“It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere” was the theme for the Port Orange / South Daytona Chamber of Commerce’s pre-Golf Tournament bash. Jimmy Buffett was the guest of honor if only just in spirit. There were parrots as well as parrotheads everywhere, and the décor, provided by the dedicated people of Don Bell Signs, was à la Margaritaville. The weather cooperated, providing balmy breezes making the deck of the Riverside Pavilion in Port Orange an idyllic setting for this event.
And the food! The food, a sampling of tasty treats provided Aunt Catfish’s on the River, Carefree Catering, Crabby Joe’s, Deck Down Under, and Racing’s North Turn, was Outstanding! Drinks by J&T Bartending were also outstanding.
DJ, Bill Christen certainly enhanced the carefree, party atmosphere with the selection of music that he played. And, the live music of Category 5 kept that party atmosphere going strong all evening.
The evening’s entertainment concluded with the sometimes subtle and sometimes in-your-face comedy of Michael Cheselka; a funny, funny guy. After Michael concluded his comedy routine a drawing was held for the various prizes that were given away. The grand prize was a 4-day, 3-night Florida Keys vacation package from www.keysgetaway.com.
Everyone attending this great event seemed to really get into the mood of the laid-back theme. And, I would venture to say that everyone enjoyed himself or herself. I know I did.
