Parktowne Expo “Spring 2010” Edgewater

The 1st Annual Edgewater Parktowne Expo took place last Saturday and completed the kick off to a major Edgewater Business Annual Event. With over 65 booths occupied by 54 local vendors the response was fantastic!
A beautiful day with a cool breeze made for a festive event amongst the ponds and trees surrounding the Parktowne Industrial Center in Edgewater. Participants from local retail, manufacturing, services, financial establishments, and non-profit organizations complimented on a successful day.
The day started at 8:30 am with a special tribute to our Armed Forces presented by Post 285 Honor Guard and the VFW 4250 Honor Guard. Following the Ceremony was Edgewater Councilman, Ted Cooper and SEV Chamber President, Sue Williams with opening speeches.
An estimated crowd of 600 people enjoyed the family activities to include a petting zoo, live entertainment, remote boating, and much more. Most exhibitors had give aways and door prizes to include special drawings by the Edgewater Rotary and the SEV Chamber of Commerce!
Volusia County Economic Board members were on hand to support the event and participated in the exhibition. Hosted by the Expo Committee made up of local business leaders, SEV Chamber of Commerce and the Edgewater Economic Development Board all combined to make a successful event.
Attendees and exhibitors both inquired about next years event and the move forward to make this Expo a annual impact on the local knowledge of what Edgewater really has to offer the community!

Art Walk and Wine Tasting will be held on Flagler Ave. May 22

Art Walk and Wine Tasting will be held on historic Flagler Avenue in New Smyrna Beach from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, May 22. Attendees can take an enjoyable stroll along the avenue while enjoying the wide variety of art works featured inside galleries, as well as by several visiting artists under canopies, and may also participate in the Wine Tasting, which runs from 1 to 6 p.m. Wine tasting passports can be purchased for $20 at the tent at the northeast corner of Flagler Avenue and Cooper Street. The Art Walk and Wine Tasting information flyer includes the Art Walk prize drawing punch card, so pick one up and get it punched at each of the four sponsoring galleries for a chance to win a prize. Jewelry of Joy, 301 Flagler, will donate this month’s prize, amethyst faceted gemstone bead and sterling silver earrings. How Would You Like to Spend the Summer Making A Difference in your Community?
This is a great opportunity to work with kids in the Visual Arts and
earn your volunteer hours for graduation!
They need people who are…
-responsible and trustworthy -take direction well -energetic -assertive
-friendly and fun -hard working -want experience working with youth
You must be able to commit to at least one week, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm
(with a 1 hour lunch break of course!)
