WOW! What a great turnout at last night’s Operation Thank You Bar-B-Que! Those who attended were treated to dinner and drinks by Aunt Catfish’s on the River, Carefree Catering and J & T Bartending. The event was sponsored by Cable Connections, Emcie Graphic Design, Golf Club at Cypress Head, Green Flag Profit Recovery, and RWF Properties. Victoria Fishpaw was busy making announcements and keeping everyone entertained with music by Mister DJ. Many thanks to all of you!
Thank You to all the wonderful volunteers who helped deliver our directories this week! If yours is a home based or out of town business, you may pick up your directories at the Chamber office.

Girls and boys are invited to audition for roles in the classic Oliver! based on Charles Dickens’s Oliver Twist - the music is sentimental and memorable, from the haunting ballad ”Where Is Love?” to the clamorous ”Food, Glorious Food,” to ”As Long As He Needs Me,” to the cheery ”You’ve Got to Pick a Pocket or Two.” There’s pathos and drama in this story of a London orphan who falls in with a gang of pick-pockets, is kidnapped, rescued and finally returned safely home. It’s a wonderful holiday adventure and is sponsored by the Little Theaters young thespian program, WonderLand Theatre.
* CALL means “all cast and crew on site.”
** Auditions for adult roles will be held separately on October 4 and 5.

The Graduating Classes of 65-70 attended an Alumni Gathering at The Eagles in Edgewater, Friday night, July 31 and Flip Flops Restaurant on Beach side in New Smyrna Beach, August 1. The attendance approximately was 50+ each night. Along with Dinner, there was live entertainment, which was included. A lot of discussion and reminiscing of the past Get-togethers and Reunions spurred an interest in the next year Gathering of the Alumni Classes.
Some of the Alumni were attending for the first time, some had traveled a long distance to attend and others talked about the future Gatherings.
Carol Palmer Stafford Class of 1967 has organized past Alumni Reunions and Gatherings since 2000 for the Class of 1967. Many more Alumni have expressed wanting to attend next year. This was the first combined Alumni Gathering with the promise of future events that Carol Palmer Stafford will be organizing.
Mark Steighner, (Click for Photo Gallery) Donna and Ed Steighner, (Click for Photo Gallery) and Steve Reaves (Click for Photo Gallery) captured the sensational mood in excellent photos.
Carol expresses her gratitude for the cooperation of the people that helped in making it all possible.
