Parktowne Expo “Spring 2010” Edgewater

The 1st Annual Edgewater Parktowne Expo took place last Saturday and completed the kick off to a major Edgewater Business Annual Event. With over 65 booths occupied by 54 local vendors the response was fantastic!
A beautiful day with a cool breeze made for a festive event amongst the ponds and trees surrounding the Parktowne Industrial Center in Edgewater. Participants from local retail, manufacturing, services, financial establishments, and non-profit organizations complimented on a successful day.
The day started at 8:30 am with a special tribute to our Armed Forces presented by Post 285 Honor Guard and the VFW 4250 Honor Guard. Following the Ceremony was Edgewater Councilman, Ted Cooper and SEV Chamber President, Sue Williams with opening speeches.
An estimated crowd of 600 people enjoyed the family activities to include a petting zoo, live entertainment, remote boating, and much more. Most exhibitors had give aways and door prizes to include special drawings by the Edgewater Rotary and the SEV Chamber of Commerce!
Volusia County Economic Board members were on hand to support the event and participated in the exhibition. Hosted by the Expo Committee made up of local business leaders, SEV Chamber of Commerce and the Edgewater Economic Development Board all combined to make a successful event.
Attendees and exhibitors both inquired about next years event and the move forward to make this Expo a annual impact on the local knowledge of what Edgewater really has to offer the community!

Annual CRYSTAL APPLE AWARDS - MAY 4, 2010

The Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating its 19th Annual CRYSTAL APPLE AWARDS recognizing outstanding teachers from schools in the southeast Volusia area.
The luncheon is scheduled for 12:00 noon on MAY 4, 2010 at the Smyrna Yacht Club located on South Riverside Drive in New Smyrna Beach. The guest speaker for this year’s event will be Kristy Kuches, Volusia County’s Teacher of the Year. She will be accompanied by the Superintendent of Schools Dr. Margaret Smith.
The eighteen nominees are selected by the school principals and parent organizations. The final four are selected based on their performance and creativity in a number of areas as well as their contribution to the local community.
All nominees will receive a gift bag that will include gift certificates, school supplies and items donated by local merchants and citizens. The CRYSTAL APPLE AWARD WINNERS will be recognized for their contribution to the students and their community and will be presented with a special set of gifts that will include an overnight stay at the St. Francis Inn located in St. Augustine.
This is the business community’s opportunity to recognize those who work tirelessly on behalf of our children. This year’s major sponsors are Edward Jones, The News Journal & The Observer Newspaper.
The public is welcome. Anyone wishing to attend, contact the Chamber of Commerce at (386) 428-2449. Cost for the luncheon is $20.00.

Chamber of Courage Kickoff was a great success!

The event was the brainchild of Sue Williams, President of Southeast Volusia Chamber. The Board of Directors and Staff supported her in reaching out to the community with excitement and an awesome Program of Work. The event netted volunteers for Events, Legislative, Ambassador and Membership Committees; all with big agenda’s for 2010.
The Membership Chair, Debora Schmeltz introduce the “Membership Referral” program to the approximately 70 attendees. This program awards members for referring new members that become a member of the Southeast Volusia Chamber. When a member has 10 referrals commit to membership they will have (1) years annual dues deferred.
The guests had an opportunity to see exactly what each committee has planned for the year and was encourage to get involve!

Event Happens: Feb 06, 2010 (02:00 PM) Where: Canal Street, in New Smyrna Beach, gathering in the north-west corner parking lot off Orange Avenue, where the store A Lotta Scents used to be located.
When: Saturday, February 6, 2010. Registration starts at 1pm, with staging at 1:45. The parade will begin at 2, sign in table will be on-site.

Kristine’s background includes 20 plus years in the beauty industry as a CE Provider, Director of Education, Regional Educator, Senior National Educator, Distributor Development, Business Consultant, Business Mentor, and Sales.
Kristine is the sole owner of Studio SKIN DEEP located in New Smyrna Beach, Fl.
The daily challenges I faced with cosmetic and cosmeceutical products left me tired and frustrated. After searching and investigating various cosmeceutical lines, I knew I had to formulate/manufacture my own products.
